Seeking the World’s Coolest Cars

My brother has decided that he’s going to spend the next six months living with me. The problem is that I live in a place where having a car is really inconvenient. This is a problem because my brother loves his car. He’s trying to figure out where he can store the car so that it will still be in good condition when he gets back home at the end of the year.

He has looked at a variety of different options. My sister and I always just left our cars in our parents’ driveway whenever we would leave town. He considered that but he doesn’t want his car sitting out in the rain and other weather while he’s gone. That rules out leaving it with pretty much everyone else we know too.

It looks like what he’s decided is to rent out a self storage place. There are some self storage lockers that will allow you to park a car inside of your storage unit. He can select one that has climate control options so that the car won’t be in excessive heat while he’s gone. I happen to think that it’s a bit extreme to go to all of this trouble to protect a car but I guess that’s why I live in a city where I don’t need to use one!

I’ve never been one to follow trends, but ever since I purchased my new pick up truck, I’ve just had to get it outfitted with a ton of groovy truck accessories. I realize that I don’t really “need” most of the stuff I buy, however, when it comes to the feeling of having a tricked out ride, nothing beats having the right stuff.

This month I’ve decided that I need to chrome out my truck, and I’ve started doing some research on the best looking grill guards. Not every truck looks great with bars on the front, so you really have to do a lot of searching to find the absolute perfect look for the front of your vehicle.

People always talk about how the Internet brings the world to our fingertips, and all that sort of thing.  I’m not about to deny that, because it’s certainly true, but I’d like to point out that much overlooked facet of the economy of online shopping.  The wealthy have always had the ability to track down and buy whatever they want.  The Internet doesn’t make that possible, it just makes it affordable.  Say you need something for your car.  You can always find a shop that will sell you Toyota parts. 

The old way even allowed you access to obscure and outdated supplies.  The shop owner could order what you’d need; you’d just have to wait for his next shipment to get in.  But of course that shop keep would be another middleman to your Toyota accessories, and they’d cost that much more.  Now you can get genuine Toyota parts directly from the Toyota factory-or whatever else you might ever want to buy.   Instead of a supply chain, where the cost increases significantly at each link (since the person in that link needs to make a living), there’s a web that connects each potential buyer and seller directly.  And that makes it relatively inexpensive to order obscure things.

There is a revolutionary new grilling system that actually rides on the outside of your car or truck. It attaches to any vehicle and has a swinging arm that extends when you are ready to use it. When you get to your destination, simply unlock the safety arm lock and you are ready to start grilling. It is truly an awesome grill that attached to a dual receiver hitch and will allow you to also haul your boat or camper at the same time.

An excellent additional purchase would be a Jobox storall or one of the sturdy truck boxes to keep grilling supplies in so that you will always be ready to grill at a moment’s notice. The Freedom Grill is great for picnics, sporting events and kid’s games; ultimately anywhere that you want to have a tailgating adventure. It can be removed also for table top grilling or can be used while it is still attached to the vehicle. The swinging arm allows you to still easily access the back of your truck because it swings out 180 degrees. The Freedom Grill makes any tailgating party an instant success and is one of the best truck accessories that you can buy.

Well, I hate American made cars.  I think they are absolutely awful, outrageously cheap buckets of scrap metal.  Another car broke down on me.  I knew last time I should have gotten a Toyota, except for that awful sale that the American retailers were having, and my wife starts laying into me about supporting our national economy and this is not the time to be buying foreign cars.  Turns out it’s EXACTLY the time to be buying foreign cars, because foreign cars don’t break down inside of a year! 

The repairs are going to be insane, and I’ll be covered under warranty, but I’m never setting foot in that vehicle again.  I’m selling it for whatever pittance I can get and I’m buying a Toyota.  I drove one while they were working up the initial estimates; I got it from an easy rent a car location, and they had some really cheap car rentals in florida; I could have gone to the Miami car rental and gotten a better deal, but it was too far away. 

Now I know, this is the car I want.  I will never go back on this, and I’m not even listening to my wife on this one.  I’m in a blind rage about that terrible car.  The rental place let me drive first a Corolla (little too small) and then a Rav4.  I love the Rav4, it will be mine!

One of the things that people usually consider when they go to buy a car is how difficult it will be to get that car fixed. For some vehicles, it can be really tough to fix something as simple as a busted headlight. For others, these parts are readily available in the rare case that something breaks. This brings up an interesting question, though. Are companies like Toyota put at a disadvantage because people feel that they cannot ultimately get them fixed if it comes down to that? This takes a lot of the uncertainty out of the car buying process and gives you the power to know that in the unfortunate case that something bad happens, you will have the ability to get your car back up and running again.

If you are in the market for a new car, take a few minutes to look for the sweet deals in Ft. Worth before you buy anything. There are incentives available from car dealers in Fort Worth that merit a good long look before deciding. Also, with the tough times that we are all going through in our economy, there are always going to be excellent deals to be found and negotiated. So, where are all of these sweet deals? Look for the rebates and deals that can be made on the larger vehicles, like trucks and SUV’s. This may be the place to find the best deal because the smaller cars are more in demand, therefore, the auto dealer in Ft. Worth may decide to give a bigger incentive for the larger vehicles. The discounts and bonuses that you will earn with this purchase could far outweigh the difference that you might spend in fuel. When you are in the market for truck accessories make sure that you are looking for the ones that you want and that you get the right ones for your truck as well. Consider all of the options when you are looking to install a bed liner into the back of your truck. Think of all of the different models for mud flaps that you will want to put on and pick the ones that best fit you and your truck. Go with something tasteful and classy if that is who you are. Use a truck tool box that will fit not only your truck, but one that will hold all of your tools as well.

Make sure to know what you want before you just go and buy it, try to not get talked into buying something you do not want or need so you are needlessly spending money. Use your best judgment and realize that it is your truck and you get to d what you want with it. Choose the thing that fits you best as well as what will be the most functional for your needs in work and play. Make a choice and make your truck stand out.

I have been toying with the idea of selling my pickup truck. It’s not that I don’t like it anymore; quite the contrary, I like it a whole lot. The problem is that it is getting kind of high on miles though. Plus, I really like the new Ford F150 with all of its cool new features. You know, like those step things that pop out of the sides and the tailgate. Why didn’t anyone think of those things before? I’m in and out of the back of my truck loading and unloading stuff all of the time. I can only imagine how convenient those things would be.

But the other side of the coin is that I have added all kinds of truck parts and accessories to my truck to make it just the way I want it to be. For example, I went a little crazy with the auto meter gauges. They look so cool though, and technically they even serve a purpose, sort of. They were kind of hard to install, but I was able to do it all myself which just means I am even prouder of it all. Or how about the pride that I take in the Mag Hytec differential cover I put on? Well, I actually had to have some help installing that one, but it really looks cool when you are standing behind the truck. I just don’t know that I’m ready to part with my current truck or not.

I will never forget the first time I went to the Florida Keys.  I was newly married and had just found out that we were having a baby.  My parents and I had planned the trip to the Keys months before so I decided to keep the commitment even though it meant parting from my husband for a week when we really wanted to be together at that time.  We flew into Fort Lauderdale, picked up a Fort Lauderdale airport car rental and made that long drive to Key West. 

Although I had a lot of fun, I was very distracted with the news of having a baby and the longing to be with my husband.  Therefore, now that our son is a little older we are going back, and this time as a family.  We are going to fly into Orlando, pick up an Orlando airport car rental, and start our trip at Disney World.  Then we will make our way down to the Florida Keys and I will check out all of the things I missed the first time around. 

It is really convenient that we can drop of the rental at a Fort Lauderdale car rental so we won’t have to back track.  It is a pretty full trip but we have worked hard for almost a decade in preparation and we are looking forward to it.
